Description
We start from the small port of Arma di Taggia (altitude 1 m) and head towards Taggia along the bike path. After passing the horse riding center and the soccer fields, we cross the bridge over the Argentina stream and turn right onto the provincial road towards Badalucco.
About 1 km before the town, we find a junction (altitude 155 m) with signs to the left for Argallo and Vignai. Taking the narrow and long uphill road, we pass the hamlets of Argallo, Zerni, and Vignai. Further on, we go through a tunnel and reach a junction (1,035 m) where we continue straight. Shortly after, we arrive at Passo Ghimbegna (886 m) and here we turn left to descend (for a long stretch) to the characteristic ancient village of Ceriana (altitude 345 m).
We continue downhill along the provincial road, arriving at the hamlet of Poggio, where, at the southern junction, we turn left onto the road that the riders of the Milano–Sanremo race climb. We go down it to the Aurelia road, where we turn left, towards Arma. After passing the Capo Verde lighthouse and just before the roundabout, we join the bike path on the right, which will take us back to the starting point.
