Mountain Biking in Liguria

Add flavour to your holiday in Sanremo: discover a hinterland half an hour from the sea

Mountain Biking in Sanremo? Yes … did you know that in Sanremo, besides the sea and the Festival, there is an infinite hinterland, made of trails and itineraries for experts and less experienced MTB, Freeride and Downhill riders?

For the first time, the many mtb itineraries present in this corner of Liguria, referred to various individual municipalities, become a unique heritage, organised for a special experience.

Let us not forget that in this land of the northwest, most mountain bike routes are available 12 months a year, excellent for economic ‘off-season’ holidays.

Sanremo Outdoor has its own dedicated structure that manages the technical aspects (video tutorials, gpx mtb tracks, maps etc.) and the usability of the mtb routes, the Monte Bignone Consortium, based on appropriate, shared regulations of use.

In this section you will find information on the MTB trails certified by Sanremo Outdoor for your seaside holiday like no other, as well as the possibility to get the “SANREMO OUTDOOR CARD” which allows you to get discounts and benefits offered by the supporting structures.

On each route you can find (or will find shortly) a video tutorial, created by enthusiasts like you or by champions like Loris Revelli, which explains the characteristics of the various MTB routes.

Want to publish your own video too? Great, follow the guidelines and send us your material.

We will publish it with a link to your youtube channel and your details.

In this part of Liguria, the Alps are close to the sea and the MTB trails can be reached directly from the coast, mtb trails between forests and typical villages, for a day on the saddle for experts and families.

The number of equipped trails available is constantly changing because all the municipalities in the District adhering to this project, supported by the Monte Bignone Consortium for the technical aspects of usability, are always setting up new trails.

A small rough calculation tells us that we could end up with more than 1,000 km of MTB trails. We are still a long way off, but let’s start with the trails you can find now.

Stay tuned because there’s a lot more in the making!
